Walker Settlement Program

The Walker Settlement Program was created as part of a legal agreement between the Dallas Housing Authority (DHA) and the Walker class members to remedy past discrimination against Black participants in DHA’s housing programs. Clients participating in this program must live outside of high-minority or high-poverty areas and may be eligible for financial assistance to help with moving and leasing expenses. Participating landlords can receive higher rents and up to $1,000 in financial incentives for new units.

Black participants on DHA’s voucher program and waiting lists may be eligible to participate in the program. For more information on the Walker Settlement Voucher program, contact DHA at (214) 951 – 8300. DHA clients with Walker Settlement Vouchers may use the link below to determine if a unit is in a Walker Target Area.
